How to Choose a Digital Marketing Agency in Egypt

Egypt's digital marketing scene has exploded — from Cairo giants to boutique studios in Alexandria, Benha, and the Delta. Here's a straightforward framework for picking the right partner for your brand, whether you need paid ads, social content, video, or a full growth strategy.

1. Start with the outcome, not the service

Before you interview a single agency, write down the outcome you want in one sentence: more qualified leads, higher AOV, launch a new product, expand from Egypt into the broader MENA market. Agencies that ask about your outcome before pitching services are the ones worth shortlisting.

2. Verify their portfolio is theirs

The Egyptian market is crowded with resellers and freelancers dressed up as agencies. Ask for case studies with named clients, measurable results (CPA, ROAS, reach), and the person on their team who ran the work. A real digital marketing company in Egypt will show you dashboards, not just polished reels.

3. Match the agency size to your stage

Large Cairo networks are built for enterprise budgets and multi-market rollouts. Boutique agencies move faster and give founders direct access to senior creatives. Neither is "better" — the right choice depends on how much handholding, speed, and strategic depth you need.

4. Ask about the Egypt-specific playbook

Egyptian audiences behave differently than Gulf or Western ones — Arabic-first creative, Ramadan seasonality, Facebook and TikTok dominance, WhatsApp-led funnels, and price sensitivity all matter. If an agency can't articulate how they localise for the Egyptian consumer, they're running a copy-paste playbook.

5. Red flags to walk away from

  • Guaranteed rankings or guaranteed ROAS — nobody can promise this.
  • No named account manager on the proposal.
  • Vague reporting: "we'll send monthly updates" with no KPI list.
  • Long lock-in contracts with no performance break clause.
  • Portfolio full of stock imagery instead of real client work.

6. Questions to ask on the first call

  1. Who on your team will actually run my account day-to-day?
  2. Show me a client with similar goals — what did the first 90 days look like?
  3. How do you report on performance, and how often?
  4. What's your process when a campaign underperforms?
  5. What do you need from me to make this work?
